ReplyDelete1) The theme does have a post views function, but it is only used for the Trending Posts function and not actually displayed anywhere.
2) Yes, you can easily display only the Latest Posts as your homepage. The theme comes with a Latest News page template and you can easily just set that as your homepage.
3) It is not a true “auto load posts” function since it doesn’t use any ajax of javascript to display those posts, but yes, you can easily disable the “Teaser” posts from within the Theme Options.

ReplyDeleteThe primary difference between the themes is, as you mentioned, the layout and overall design of the theme. Zox News also comes with quite a few new features, including the Theia Post Slider and Reviewer plugins, a more lightweight “Teaser Posts” feature that replaces the auto load posts feature in Flex Mag, more flexibility and custom options with Theme Options and widgets, an optional Parallax leaderboard ad, better menu/logo flexibility, improved WooCommerce design/functionality, RTL compatibility (although I do plan to include that in Flex Mag very soon), and a few other improvements on Flex Mag.
Can you improve the theme, and make all post pics content and feature image 100% width for the next update? So we don’t have to resize every post picture manually.

ReplyDeleteI am not exactly sure what you mean by this, but if you are asking if the theme will automatically stretch images to fit the width of the image container, that is not something I would recommend since it would distort the image and make it pixelated. Instead, if the image does not fit the container, it will simply be centered. However, I would recommend that you use the minimum recommended Featured Image width of 1000×600, so you will not run into this issue.
But if you would like to stretch the images to fit the container, please submit a ticket at the Support Center and I can give you some code to do this for you.

in the demo i saw that, the homepage is constructed using widgets,
i want to know whether the user of the theme will be provided with a drag and drop frontpage builder present in other themes like JS composer.
or the theme will automatically build the homepage for you by selecting many categories, i really need to know because i would like to build the homepage myself like that of androidauthority.com

ReplyDeleteI’m not sure what difference it makes how the homepage is built, whether it’s with widgets or by some other means as long as it displays the posts and information you want it to display. If the theme used another way to deliver the content is displays on the demo, it would not be any different than if it were displayed via widgets. Widgets also allow you to display as many or as few specific widgets on the homepage as you want, so the customization is there to help deliver the homepage you want.

ReplyDeleteI was thinking about adding a Featured Posts area like that, and have one nearly exactly like that included in my next update for my other theme The League. But there is a similar layout to that, but with a darker background in Zox News as shown here: http://www.mvpthemes.com/zoxnews/featured-4/
As for the main sections, Zox News widgets will allow you to mimic each of the different sections below the Featured Posts area. But I’m not sure how I could include a “channel switcher” in the theme since most sites don’t really have channels, and any items you could include in that menu, you could just include the flyout menu on the left. But Zox News should allow you to have a very similar layout to Vice, if not better looking, in my opinion.
But it’s good to hear that you are enjoying the theme. If you have a second, I would greatly appreciate it if you could rate the theme (preferably with 5 stars, since anything less than that will lower the overall rating ) via the Downloads section of your Themeforest.net profile page. Send a ticket to the Support Center, but unfortunately until the next reply. If it was something so basic, I would not need this delay all the time. Once the theme was released full of problems, I’m seriously thinking of going back to Newsppaper … The Theme here requires a lot to be used in a professional way. My rating is a star because it can not be smaller.

Hi. Interested in purchasing this theme. Is there an ability to customize the front page showing different sections/areas but placing them how I want? I guess something similar to Visual Composer where I could construct the front page to my liking.

ReplyDeleteThe homepage area below the Featured Posts section is a controlled via widgets. So each section is a widget, and you can add as few or as many of those widgets to that area as you want. The Featured Posts section is easily changed from within the Theme Options as well.

Also, I just checked PHP 7 compatibility on both themes and I got several warnings regarding the widgets:

ReplyDeleteI have not tested any ad plugins with the theme, so I can’t guarantee that they would be 100% compatible. However, the theme only uses html and javascript in the ad areas, so if the plugin uses shortcodes, it will not be compatible.
I would suggest using Google DFP as a third party ad management system, since they give you all the tools you need to track your own ads, and they give you javascript code that you can then use in the theme.
Also, unfortunately, a demo admin is not available for this theme.

1 – Is the home page built with movable blocks? Can I throw them up or down as needed?
2 – Do all blocks of categories on the homepage require photo? Or do I have the option to use some block that does not require a featured photo in the post?
3 – Responsive images at the top and middle of the homepage. Do those spaces accept codes for inserting ad groups or are they just for still images?

ReplyDelete1) The top part is the Featured Posts section and will remain at the top, but you can choose between 5 different layouts for this section.
But below that is a widgetized areas and you can add as few or as many widgets as you want and move them around as you see fit.
2) There are some widgets that are not as reliant on photos as others, and you can display posts via a Tag or Category.
3) They are just for images as they are fulled from the Featured Post of the article.
Hi MVP, Is it possible to modify the theme’s CSS so the embedded videos can maintain their original aspect ratio in the articles? I feel there’s an excessive about of black on top and the bottom of the video player, especially on mobile.
