  4. Hey cool theme! Is there any chance that I can use plugins like cornerstone/pagebuilder etc to customise the homepage? My goal is to create different blocks for different post categories (e.g. “news” section with 3 articles on left, “reviews” section with 3 articles on right, “music” section with 3 articles on center etc etc). Let me know, if I could achieve this I would buy instantly this awesome theme <3

  9. Hi there, love the theme! Instead of a gradient, can the header have a background image? Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Hi noisetrend, you can upload a pattern or use a solid color or gradient. Single image is not an option for now but that’s a good idea, we will discuss this with our developer.

    Cheers!

  11. Hello! Good work I love this theme <3
I already bought it and need urgent help with some failures:

    1. Mobile menu: you can not click on the categories, only in the subcategories. The submenu is displayed and can not be clicked on in the main category.
    2. Remove word break from titles please. This is very unsightly in the mobile version.
    3. In the featured slide, the post titles are cut with ”...” (mobile version). I need them to look whole. If not, people doesn´t know what is the post content about.
    4. On the Categories page. After downloading many posts (30-40 entries) the design masonry changes and the squares look small and misplaced with the text inside…
    5. In dark version, facebook comments looks invisible because comments color are blue. I will need to change facebook comments theme to light colors.

I need to fix this asap to have my website ready. I am looking forward to your response. Thank you.

  13. HI there, I was really happy with daze for some time ago, but I am quite interested on Skin theme.
I really like the Mansory Light but I need a sidebar as in the Mansory light active.
Is it possible? Can I “grab” the best of the different skins in other to customize my theme?

    Regards,

  14. Hi there Cbersch!

We’re happy to see a returning customer Skin offers 6 types of blog layout, among which is Masonry with 2 columns & sidebar. Besides, there’s an additional setting for the sidebar to be placed on the right or the left side.
Different skins shown in demo examples are all based on the same set of options, which are quite independent, so you can combine them as you like and get as many different skins as you want. The four we’ve presented are just our favorite selection

    Cheers,

  15. Great theme, cracking design.. Nice to see something a little different on TF for a change.. Can I ask which Insta plugin are you using on the footer?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Hi jezjones,

Thanks for the compliments! Our main goal was to make something a bit different, indeed. The Instagram carousel in the footer is actually one of the 10 widgets that we created on our own, specially for Skin

  17. Congratulation. I am following your work 2 years now. Every theme is great. This one is my fav. but i never buy your themes. I am affraid that u stop developing it. Like Daze, awesome theme….but i have same requests for all of them, and specially this one. Support for woocomerce, ( cant make affiliate mag witohut) or affiliate links (buy button), buddypress ( need people to register and check their profiles), VC- because changes can be done without asking for support. Adsense examples ? I dont see them ….. Better mobile menu … If u had this things, i would own all of your themes allready. One more question: Snax support ? works or not? Anyway, in designer perspective,u killed it!

    ReplyDelete
  18. If u concentrate on this one, and develope large scale usability, this theme will be on top of the envato list. If not, buyers like me just give up. But every theme u make is individual and never the same as others. Your style is awesome: I am asking if u are going to digg in deep and go further with it? This kind of design is impossible to find in my opinion.

  19. Hi @MARCOB, long time no see
Thanks for the awesome comment(s)! When people notice the difference than all time spent in the designing and developing a theme is not wasted. Thank you!
As for all other points you are making, we get what you say. In our defense, we have to say that Skin is our most advanced theme so far: users have more controls over every segment of the theme, backed options are more user-friendly and we added some really nice options that people can miss out when they just roll over the demos (like reading progress bar on single posts, social drop-down menu, 6 new short-codes available directly in editor, custom category colors, diffferent images for blog page and single post page etc + the old features like pop-out pages, special boxes, gif support etc).
Also, Skin is AdSence ready. We added examples of advertisements above the footer and in sidebar on our demos. Here you can see all widget areas we created where you can put your Adsence (or other) code http://skin.nordwoodthemes.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/widget_areas.png
Skin also has a custom button (as you called it buy-button). It is one of the short codes we mention before. You can put whatever text you want and whatever link you want and it will generate a button. Somewhere in the middle of this page you’ll find an example (button saying NW Instagram) http://demo4.skin.nordwoodthemes.com/skin-features/
And for affiliate purposes you can use Link post format. We added an custom option that when someone click on that post it take you directly to an external url (skip the main post). Example of this is post with GIF of a crazy purple cat (on any demo). Click on it and it will take you directly to Envato shop.
Finally (and this is the reason why answer is so delayed), our small team has just talked about Skin, since it seems that people really like it and respond well to it, (and several other people asked about WooComerce also) we decided that it’s gonna be thing we’re going to do first. So, yes. Skin will have WC We can’t say when exactly since we haven’t done WC integration to WP before, but if all go well in 2-3 weeks it should be up and running
So, that’s it for now. Thank you again for a detailed and very constructive comment. It gave us an extra push deciding toward Skin further upgrades.

  20. olá! queria saber se o tema BLOG SKIN suporta o Woocommerce ?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hi, @eiurysalles. WooCommerce will work with Skin but it will have it’s default appearance/styling. Good news is that we have just decided that we’ll concentrate on that matter and first major update (hopefully in next 2-3 weeks) will bring full WC support to Skin

    Cheers,
    NordWood

  24. Hi, great looking theme! Do you guys offer demos where I can use the admin dashboard and tinker around with it?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hmmm, no. Can you provide us a link with some example where it has be done? :/

In the meantime, you can send us an email and we may provide you with screenshots from back end of the theme (so you can get general impression about options etc).

  28. We like the theme. Really it is cool and modern. But we are worried about performance. Is it possible disable several functions (for example, pop-ups) and deactivate, in this case, the CSS & JS output?

Another related question: is compatble with autoptimize or another similar plugin for better performance? Have you tested it with any plugin for this purpose?

Any way, with a litle of work around the performance, this is a killer theme. Super killer theme. Now is almost a killer theme. Superb, any way. Congratulations.

    ReplyDelete
  29. for example: 1.- id=’skin_dynamic_styles-inline-css’ may be stored on child theme or a normal css archive (now it is inline)? 2.- And emoji…. is necesary so many code on home? </head> is in the line 785… 3.- is possible only display google maps api only when a map is in the current page? 4.- And so on. Finally.- Many litle issues that… with some fixes… may improve the performance a lot.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Hi quijotesca,

Thank you for all the killer compliments!

Regarding the performance optimization, we tested some of the most popular plugins and they all work well (Autooptmize included). However, we are aware that some solutions we may have missed could still be implemented, so thank you for all the tips! We will surely consider the workaround for dynamic styles – so far we were mostly following the codex for that matter. As for the maps, our logic was it would be more of a cost to go through the content of each post and check if it’s there, than to enqueue map scripts once the API key is insterted. We’ll think about your suggestion on this, too.

The pop-out pages are created as a non-required plugin, so you can definitely exclude that feature if you don’t need it. There are three more plugins (for the shortcodes, custom login page and post format related fields) which are all optional, so you can decide whether you’re gonna use them.

    Best!

  31. Haha. Sorry… We looked the theme and immediately we needed to study it deeply. But it is definitive: it is a awesome theme. You got a customer here, sure. This weekend we buy it. But, please… remember this litle things for improve the performance in next updates. Please! And thanks for response. You kill me

  32. I love the way this has been made. However is there any plans to add a new style which is 1 article instead of masonry. So a list type underneath each other full width? Also is there a way to remove the circles? Also, can you remove the tags underneath each article which says which category they’re in? Many Thanks, awesome theme.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Hi, @isomind. We’re glad you like Skin

Regarding your questions, we decided to go with this kind of standard list (instead of full posts one below another) http://demo3.skin.nordwoodthemes.com/ This list (demo3) can have post excerpts below post titles (we just didn’t show that option in the demo). Also, we follow the feedback and inquiries from our (potential) customers and if some request is heard from enough people than we seriously discuss that as an theme update. So, it’s not impossible.

Circles are just a latest/featured posts slider and they can be replaces with one posts (demo 4) or with grid of three posts (demo 3), welcome message (we don’t have that option displayed) or all of that can be removed completely. So, yes.

Yes, you can choose weather you want to display categories/tags on a blog page or not.

    Cheers,

    NordWood

  34. Hi,

This theme is on whole another level of awesomeness, very much different from themes in popular category. I wish you guys to get tremendous no. of sales.

Just wondering if you planning to add bbpress skin to your theme. Also, is this theme optimized for SEO?

    Waiting for your reply.

Again, cong. for this awesome work.
