    Each portfolio item have option for masonry image size. In theme demo we have used 1100×1100px images and for example first two are items are set to use large width / height https://www.screencast.com/t/ilEO2Ysr and items in second row have default setting https://www.screencast.com/t/pJcW6H9sM . By combining dimensions for the items you can achieve same height in each row like on this list http://synergia.select-themes.com/portfolio/masonry-wide/

    Different question: would you consider a feature where I can use WPBakery on portfolio item pages?


    Right now it’s limited to images with some text on the side, but I would like to add text and images in a custom layout, to have more control of how I present my work.

    That is possible. You need to choose custom type from each single portfolio page and to enable VC for that post type https://www.screencast.com/t/7n7Sq6vVO since VC plugin is enabled for pages by default when you install it.

    Just demo is working fine. When you trying to install, there is lots of error and project are not looking same as like demo. When you open homepage in responsive mode, menu not working and also mega menu not working as well like demo element tab.
